Should we give athletes who get into trouble off the field time after time another chance to play sports again in there profession? For example, Adam “Pacman” Jones wants to be reinstated by the National Football League, but past troubles off the field keep diminishing his return to the NFL. Why should we give him another chance? Do we just ignore his bad behavior because he can help the team win?
I think we should give athletes a second chance because everybody is entitled to a second chance. I don’t believe in the “three strikes and your out” view. If an athlete keeps getting into trouble we need to put mentors in his life to help him deal with the issues. A lot of times we look and say “why is he acting like that, isn’t he a professional?” I say before you judge, understand what this person has been through. I heard a quote once that said, “How do you know were I have been if you’ve never been were I’ve been? Understand were I’m coming from?” We should give them a second chance period!

Maybe pacman is on his 3rd or 4thy chance. Where does a 2nd chance stop and another begins. Character changes have to take place first before a 2nd chance can work.
